LORMAN, Miss. – With a lot of new faces on the roster, first-year head coach
Landon Bussie has the Alcorn State University men's basketball program on the court preparing for the 2020-21 season.
Alcorn's roster features 10 newcomers, including eight transfers and a pair of true freshmen.
The Braves have familiar names on the team as well including seniors
Troymain Crosby and
Kobe Wilson. Crosby was an All-Conference selection last year and lead the team with 15.1 points per game in conference, while Wilson led the Braves in both rebounds and blocks.
"We've got a few guys we're trying to get back in shape and a few guys that are ahead of speed, but as of right now we're looking good – a lot of intensity and guys bringing a lot of effort every single day," Bussie said. "We've got a good group of guys. We've got guys who can put the ball in the basket, guys who can defend and guys who can play multiple positions. I'm just excited to see what these guys are capable of doing once they get out there and compete against other teams."
Alcorn is practicing toward a season-opener on Wednesday, Nov. 25 on the road. A schedule has not yet been announced.
