Alcorn Primed for Tuesday Showdown at Liberty

LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University men's basketball team continues its non-conference stretch with a quick turnaround trip to Liberty for a Tuesday (Dec. 22) matinee set for noon at Liberty Arena.

 ► Alcorn faced No. 6 Houston in its season return after a three-week hiatus, falling to the nationally-ranked Cougars 88-55 Sunday afternoon.
 
►  A junior transfer from Coastal Carolina, David Pierce III posted a career day against the Cougars, draining a team-high four threes and finishing with 16 points and four boards.
 
► The duo of Troymain Crosby and David Pierce accounted for 28 of Alcorn's 37 second-half points against Houston.
