Alcorn Set for Tuesday Road Contest at Ole Miss

LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University women's basketball team squares off against in-state rival Ole Miss Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in its third-straight, non-league road test at The Pavilion at Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss.

SERIES HISTORY
The Rebels hold a 15-1 series advantage over Alcorn, with the Lady Braves proving victorious, 70-66, in the first meeting on Jan. 12, 1980. This is the first time both squads will square off in the Magnolia State since Nov. 24, 2008, where Ole Miss earned the 63-40 win on its home court.

OPENING STORYLINES
 ► Through its opening two non-league games, senior Kirdis Clark leads Alcorn's squad with 11.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg. She is the lone Lady Brave to accumulate double-digit scoring efforts in both games and grabbed a team-high eight boards against Wichita State.
 
 ► Clark is tied for third in steals-per-game (2.5) and ranks fourth in assists-per-game (3.5) among SWAC players.
 
 ► Alcorn outrebounded the Shockers by an 11-5 margin in the first quarter, handing them an early lead that held well into the second quarter.
 
 ► After a subpar 3FG effort at SLU, Alcorn bounced back and drained 10 three-pointers at Wichita State with six coming in the first half.
 
 ► The Lady Braves hung tough against Wichita State, leading by as many as six points in the first half before the Shockers turned a big third quarter into a 71-53 victory.
 
 ► Nathaniel Kilbert has had a storied SWAC career, coaching at league members Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State before taking the helm of the Lady Braves with a 179-348 career mark.
