LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State University will host its 2020 alumni men's and women's basketball reunion on Saturday, March 7 at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

It will also be Senior Day for the men's and women's basketball teams, and all registered alumni will receive two complimentary tickets. The doubleheader begins at 3 p.m. against Texas Southern.

"We're continuing our efforts to connect with our former student-athletes and want to bring as many back to campus as we can," said director of athletics
Derek Horne. "We look forward to having them in the gym for this event and to hear about their experiences during their playing days."

Larry Smith will be on-hand as he was the back-to-back SWAC Player of the Year in 1978-79 and 1979-80. It's the 40th anniversary of the 1979-80 SWAC Championship team that went on to defeat South Alabama in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

"I am so excited about this event. Just having the opportunity to reunite with former colleagues that had such a positive impact on Alcorn State University basketball is priceless," Smith said.
