BATON ROUGE, La. – The Alcorn State University men's tennis team began the 2021 spring portion of their schedule Saturday facing LSU as the Tigers claimed the 7-0 victory at the LSU Tennis Complex.
In doubles, Stojan Stojanovski and David Pata played at the top flight winning three games before falling, 6-3. Santiago Rocca and Kareem Bowe played at the No. 2 spot claiming a game before falling, 6-1.
In singles, Pata won the most games as he was competing at the top flight and was able to win five total games, including four in the second set before falling, 6-1, 6-4. Stojanovski won four games, two in each set, during his match at the No. 2 spot before falling, 6-2, 6-2. Rocca at No. 3, Bowe at No. 4 and Dakota Fernandez at No. 5 all fell by the same set scores of 6-0, 6-0. LSU then claimed the No. 6 singles by default as Alcorn didn't enter a player at the spot.
