CLINTON, Miss. – The Alcorn State University men's tennis program earned its first win of the 2020-21 campaign Wednesday afternoon, topping the Mississippi College Choctaws on the road, 5-2.

Stojan Stojanovski swept the first two doubles matches to earn the doubles point by a tally of 6-2 and 6-4, respectively.
Each of the four doubles participants for the Purple and Gold claimed straight-set victories during the singles round as #1 Pata beat Matias Ballatore (6-2, 6-1), #3 Stojanovski defeating Maksym Konovalov (6-3, 6-3), Dini taking care of Joe Jarvis (6-2, 6-4) and #2 Andonov contributing the finishing blow as he snuck by Brady McDaniel (7-5, 6-4) to seal the triumph.

Kareem Bowe fell to Shane Samyn by counts of 6-3 and 6-0 while #6
Santiago Rocca put up a fight in a loss to Carlos Trujillo (6-4, 6-3).
Alcorn tennis will return to the court on the weekend of February 26-28 when it will participate in the first SWAC pod of the season in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as Southern University plays host.
