The Lady Braves (3-10, 1-1 SWAC) were unable to reach first base in the contest as TSU starting pitcher Naomi Reyes pitched a perfect game while producing nine strikeouts.
Ambria Dorsey went the full four innings on the afternoon, striking out three Lady Tigers batters in the process.
Texas Southern (5-12, 3-1 SWAC) had one extra base, a two-RBI triple by Ja'Lynn Swiney, plus one RBI each from Pamela Richardson, Mila Rodriguez, Daryn Haslam, Julia Bilbao and Ashling Shahan.
The Lady Tigers moved to 19-9 against the Lady Braves on the softball diamond.
Coach Rankin's group will get a chance at redemption Saturday, facing the Maroon and Silver for a doubleheader starting at noon in which a sweep would earn a series victory.
