PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Alcorn State University women's soccer program's season has come to an end as Rosalina Santoro put one in the back of the net but #1 Alabama State prevailed 6-1.
The eighth-seeded Lady Braves (1-10, 0-8 SWAC) got off two shots, both on-target, took four corner kicks and played a clean sheet with no fouls called against them.
Rosalina Santoro sailed an equalizer from just outside the right corner of the attacking box in the fifth minute to cash in on her one shot attempt.
Shalisha King was the other shot taker at the 11:02 mark but fell into the waiting mitts of Lady Hornets keeper, Madison Ropp.
Mikayla Shaughnessy started the match in goal playing the first 80 minutes and change while tallying seven saves. Vivian Lugo finished the contest from there with one save and zero goals allowed.
Alabama State (7-2-1, 6-0-1 SWAC) received two goals from Teaggan Ilela and one each courtesy of McKenna Wiscombe, Ashley Thomas, Kaitlyn Sampson and  Paige Patton.
The helpers for the Black and Gold were contributed by Wiscombe, Patton, Isabella Beortegui and Mary Martin Mooneyham.
