ITTA BENA, Miss. – Alcorn State University Athletics Lady Braves women's soccer ended their Friday night match in a tie with Mississippi Valley State University, 0-0. ASU closes out their regular season with a record of 5-10-1 and 3-5-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

Samara Nunn finished the match with two shots while
Natacia Ruiz and
Jaidyn Matheu each tallied one. As a team, Mississippi Valley ended the match with 20 shots.
Paula Argelaguet was in the goal for Alcorn racked up 11 saves while the Devilettes' Ludesha Reynolds had three.
   "This was a disappointing result, but I am happy we came out with a point," said head coach
Jenna Wallace.
   ASU finishes the season firmly in seventh place as they head to the SWAC women's soccer tournament from Nov. 2-5. The Lady Braves enter the tournament with the confidence of three wins towards the end of the season. Players like Nunn, who leads Alcorn with five goals on the season, will be key in the opening round of the conference tournament.
   "We need to reset our focus going into the conference tournament next week," Wallace said. "Anything can happen come tournament time."
   The Lady Braves will play in Match 3 of the quarterfinals against #2 Jackson State University on Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. The SWAC women's soccer tournament will be held at Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas.
