PINE BLUFF, AR. – Alcorn State volleyball traveled to Pine Bluff, Arkansas for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) cluster that began on Sunday and finished on Monday morning. The Lady Braves had matches against Jackson State, Mississippi Valley, and Alabama A&M. The Lady Braves went 1-2 in the cluster getting the win over MVSU.
Alcorn State 0, Jackson State 3
In match one, the Lady Braves were led by
Ramona Pulu who finished with a team leading nine assists, seven kills and two service aces.
Alissa Williams had seven assists, six kills, and one ace.
Alcorn State 3, Mississippi Valley 0
The Lady Braves were able to capture their first win in the match against MVSU, 3-0. ASU was led by
Hannah Solomon who finished with 14 kills, 12 digs, two service aces, and one block.
Alissa Williams led the team in assists with 15, followed by
Ramona Pulu who tallied 10 assists.
Emma Price led ASU in digs with 13 followed by Solomon's 12 and
Harmoni Carswell with 10.
Alcorn State 0, Alabama A&M 3
In match three, The Lady Braves were led by
Makayla Wardlaw who finished with ten kills and two service aces.
Alissa Williams finished with 12 assists and six digs.
Harmoni Carswell finished with eight digs and two assists.
Jalayah Hamby led the Lady Braves with two blocks.
The Lady Braves will be back in action on Sunday, October 15
th and 16
th against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Grambling in Lorman, MS. First serve is set to be at 1:00 p.m.
