LORMAN, Miss. -- Alcorn State University men's basketball looks to build on their win against Prairie View A&M University as they head to Florida to face off against Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University. The Braves will go head-to-head with the Rattlers on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 4 p.m. (ET) and with the Wildcats on Monday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
    ASU (3-15, 2-3 SWAC) comes into the contest after a thrilling 90-78 win over the Panthers in Davey L. Whitney Complex on Jan. 22.
Jeremiah Gambrell put on an amazing 20 points performance for the Braves.
Byron Joshua showed his prowess as an offensive initiator to the tune of 18 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Jalen Hawkins racked up 14 points and four rebounds while
Stephen Byard tallied 12 points and four rebounds.
    Alcorn will have to keep the ball moving and clean up under the boards to come away with wins in the Sunshine State. Kendall leads the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 16.1 points and seven rebounds per game. Gambrell is second in scoring for ASU averaging 12.1 points per game. Joshua rounding out the top scorers averaging 11.7 points per game and leading the team in assists averaging 3.5 dishes per game.
    Florida A&M (3-13, 1-4 SWAC) are coming off an 81-70 rout of Mississippi Valley State University. The Rattlers had four players stand out in the contest. Jalen Speer scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Shannon Grant scored 17 points while Keith Lamar recorded 12 points and four assists. K'Jei Parker scored 10 points and Hantz Louis tallied eight rebounds.
    For the season, Lamar leads the team averaging 13.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Roderick Coffee, III leads the team in assists with 2.9 per game.
The Wildcats (8-10, 3-2 SWAC) enter the game after a 72-76 loss to the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Jakobi Heady scored 25 points as Derrick Carter-Hollinger, Jr. Â recorded 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Seneca Willoughby tallied 11 points and four assists.
    Heady leads the team through 18 games in scoring and rebounding averaging 16.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Dyson and Zion Harmon follow closely averaging 14.6 points and 13.9 points per game. Damani McEntire has a nose for the ball averaging 2.7 steals per game.
