MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alcorn State University softball (5-10) closed the HBCU Invitational going 1-1 against Tuskegee University and Alabama State University. The Lady Braves won the game against the Lady Golden Tigers, 6-1, and dropped the game to Lady Hornets, 5-8.
    Against Tuskegee (8-11), ASU scored six runs on 10 hits while committing no errors.
Kelsey Lockridge went 1-of-3, hit a home run, scored a run, and batted one in.
Kristian Edwards scored two runs, went 1-of-3, and stole a base.
Hannah Miller went 3-of-3, scored one run, batted two in and stole a base.
Kiri Parker batted one run. Jamyiyah Cotton went 1-of-2, scored one run and stole a base.
Kennedy Terry went 1-of-3, scored one run and stole a base.
    The Lady Golden Tigers scored one run on five hits while committing three errors. Jessica Morales went 1-of-3 and scored one run. Jada Chadwick went 1-of-3 and batted one in. Alcorn's

Olivia Miller snapped up the win pithcing seven innings for five hits, one earned run, one walk, one strike out. Miller faced 26 batters.
    Caroline Clark suffered the loss for Tuskegee with six innings pitched for 10 hits, six runs (one earned), and one strike out. Clark faced 27 batters.
    In the second game of the day, the Lady Braves scored five runs on eight hits while committing three errors. Edwards went 2-of-3 and scored two runs. Miller went 3-of-4, scored one run, batted one in, hit a double, and stole a base. Lockridge went 1-of-4 , batted two in, hit a double, and stole a base.
    Alabama State (7-7) scored eight runs on eight hits while committing three errors. Kindal DeRamus went 2-of-3, scored two runs, and batted one in. Kendall Smiley went 1-of-4, scored one run, and batted two in. Alexia Denby went 2-of-3 and batted two runs in. Brooke Ramsey went 1-of-1 and batted one in. Zoee Disroe went 1-of-2, hit a home run, scored one run, batted one run in. Mickey Coslor went 1-of-3 and scored two runs.
    The Lady Hornets' Ashley Pye (2-2) pitched for 1.1 innings allowing one hit, no runs, one walk while facing six batters. Ana Richiez (S-2) earned the save with 1.2 innings allowing three hits, two earned runs, and one strikeout.

Kiri Parker (5-5) suffered the loss for Alcorn with six innings pitched allowing eight hits, eight runs (two earned), two walks, six strikeouts, and two wild pitches. Parker faced 31 batters.
    The Lady Braves will be back in action from March 1-3 as they compete in the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Mississippi State University in Starkville, Miss. Alcorn will play MSU, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Troy University.
