HAMMOND, La. – Alcorn State University softball took the diamond against Southeastern Louisiana University on Tuesday. The Lady Braves put up a fight but were defeated in both games with scores of 0-7 and 1-16.
Game One
ASU scores no runs on three hits while committing no errors.
Kristian Edwards,
Alonah Felton, and
Samantha Rodriguez each accounted for a hit.
Southeastern Louisiana scored seven runs on 11 hits while committing no errors. Lexi Johnson finished with two hits, a run, and three batted in. Maria Detillier had a hit, a run, and two batted in. Sophia Stoddard ended the game with a hit and two RBI.
M.C. Comeaux picked up the win for SLU with a complete game pitched for three hits, one walk, two strikeouts, a wild pitch, and 25 batters faced.
Kiri Parker suffered the loss for the Lady Braves with six innings pitched for 11 hits, seven runs, three walks, three strikeouts, and 30 batters faced.
Game Two
Alcorn State scored a run on four hits while committing three errors. Parker finished the game with one hit and a run batted in.
SLU scored 16 runs on 14 hits with no errors. Chloe McGee finished the game with three hits, two runs, and two RBI. Lexi Johnson had two hits, one run, and two runs batted in. Maddie Watson ended the game with three hits, one run, and two RBI. Bailey Krolczyk had one hit, two runs, and two runs batted in. Colleen Kulivan finished the game with one hit, one run, and two RBI.
Chloe Bennett snapped up the win for Southeastern Louisiana with three innings pitched for three hits, a run, a strikeout, and 12 batters faced.
Ta'Niyah Fletcher suffered the loss for the Lady Braves for four innings pitched for 14 hits, 16 runs (14 earned), three strikeouts, eight walks, two wild pitches, and 33 batters faced.
