HAMMOND, La. – Alcorn State University baseball traveled to face Southeastern Louisiana University for a two-day stretch. The Braves fell in both games with scores of 3-15 and 1-9.
Game One
ASU scored three runs on five hits while committing two errors.
Dillon Crowell hit a home run, batted two in, and scored a run.
SLU scored 15 runs on 15 hits while committing an error. Shea Thomas hit a home run and batted three in and scored three runs. Parker Coley finished the game with a hit, two runs, and two RBI.
Carson Robb picked up the win for Southeastern Louisiana with four innings pitched for a hit, a run, a walk, seven strikeouts, and 14 batters faced. Kaleb Howell earned the save with three innings pitched for four hits, two runs, a walk, four strikeouts, a wild pitch, and 14 batters faced.
Andres Chirinos faced five batters in the first inning and allowed a hit, three runs, three walks and four wild pitches.
Game Two
The Braves scored a run on seven hits while committing three errors.
Chris Tillman finished with a hit and an RBI.
Diego Lopez-Molina ended the day with a run.
Southeastern Louisiana scored nine runs on 12 hits with no errors. Ryan Brome hit a home run, scored a run, and had four runs batted in. Shea Thomas finished the day with three hits, two runs, and an RBI. Jake Killingsworth had two hits and a run batted in. Dom Regira finished with an RBI.
Hayden Robb picked up the win for SLU with six innings pitched for five hits, a run, six strikeouts, and 22 batters faced.
Myles Dews suffered the loss for Alcorn with five batters faced for two hits, two runs, two walks, and a wild pitch.
The Braves will be back in action from April 26-28 at home in Willie "Rat" McGowan Stadium against the University of Arkansas - Pine Bluff. First pitch on Friday, April 26 is at 6 p.m.
