Box Score RUSTON, La. - In a hard-fought battle at the Thomas Assembly Center on Tuesday night, the Alcorn State University Lady Braves were defeated by Louisiana Tech University, 0-3, in straight sets (13-25, 14-25, 15-25). Despite the final scoreline, Alcorn showed moments of resilience and determination, but a series of errors and the strength of their opponents proved too much to overcome.

Sydney Valentine was a standout for Alcorn, leading the team with 11 total attacks and five kills, contributing a solid .176 hitting percentage. Her ability to find the court with precision provided a spark for the team in key moments.
Erin Mims also had a notable performance, recording 11 total attacks with a .364 hitting percentage, showcasing her efficiency at the net.

Ramona Pulu contributed defensively and offensively with 13 attacks and three kills ending with a .231 hitting percentage.
Jalayah Hamby added seven attacks and two kills, finishing with a .143 hitting percentage, while
Michaela Branner registered two kills on 15 attempts, finishing with a .067 hitting percentage.
    While the Lady Braves showed promise in their offensive efforts, service errors plagued their ability to maintain momentum. Alcorn had six service errors over the course of the match, hindering their ability to apply sustained pressure on Louisiana Tech. Valentine and Mims were key contributors defensively as well, with five digs each, while Pulu added four.
    Defensively, Alcorn recorded a total of three team blocks, with contributions from Valentine, Hamby, and Mims, but the Lady Braves were unable to stifle the relentless attack from Louisiana Tech, who hit .545 in the first set and maintained strong offensive efficiency throughout the match.
    Despite the loss, Alcorn showed moments of grit and individual brilliance, with Valentine and Mims leading the charge on both sides of the ball.
    The Lady Braves will be back in action on Monday, Sept. 9 when they visit Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
