NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Alcorn State faced a tough challenge against Vanderbilt University on Saturday night at FirstBank Stadium falling 55-0 to the Commodores. The Braves struggled to gain offensive momentum, while Vanderbilt's well-balanced attack was efficient throughout the game.

Game Summary:
Vanderbilt opened the scoring with a 35-yard field goal by Brock Taylor midway through the first quarter, followed by a quick 17-yard touchdown pass from Eli Stowers to Cole Spence just minutes later. The Commodores continued to dominate in the second quarter, with rushing touchdowns from Diego Pavia and Sedrick Alexander pushing the lead to 24-0 by halftime.
Despite some defensive stands, Alcorn couldn't get on the scoreboard. Vanderbilt's aggressive running game, led by Nate Johnson's 56-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, extended the lead to 55-0. A punt return for a touchdown by Martel Hight and an interception return by Alan Wright sealed the scoreline.
