Lady Braves Open Up SWAC Play With Home Loss To Jackson State, 67-64

 
LORMAN – In a thrilling start to SWAC play, Alcorn State's women's basketball team battled until the final moments but fell short to Jackson State, 67-64, on Saturday afternoon at the Davey L. Whitney Health & Physical Education Complex.
 
Destiny Brown led the Lady Braves with 16 points and eight rebounds, including 8-for-12 showing from the free-throw line. Zy'Nyia White added 15 points and four rebounds, while Kiarra Henderson chipped in 10 points and three rebounds. Despite a strong fourth-quarter push, the Lady Braves were unable to overcome Jackson State's late-game composure.

  • Both teams started with strong defensive intensity, keeping the game tight.
