LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State volleyball dropped a hard-fought match to Florida A&M, falling 3–0 (23-25, 21-25, 21-25) inside the Davey L. Whitney Health & Physical Education Complex on Monday afternoon.
Despite the sweep, the Lady Braves showed fight in every set, keeping the score close throughout. Alcorn recorded 36 kills and hit .128 as a team, battling point-for-point with the Rattlers in the opening two sets.
Courtney Carter led the charge with 16 kills on a .387 hitting percentage, along with six digs. Setter Juliana Henao finished with 26 assists, eight digs, and two service aces. Jessika Martinez added five kills, while Cristin Webb contributed three kills and three aces.
The loss drops Alcorn to 2–18 overall and 1–6 in SWAC play. The Lady Braves will look to regroup and bounce back as conference play continues next week.
