LORMAN, Miss.- Alcorn State closed out the 2025 volleyball campaign on Sunday afternoon at the Davey L. Whitney Complex, falling to Alabama State 3–0 (25–14, 25–8, 25–13) in the season finale and Senior Night matchup.
Alcorn (3–26, 2–14 SWAC) was led offensively by Courtney Carter, who finished with 6 kills, 3 digs, and a block assist. Kyla Powell added 4 kills, 4 digs, and a block, while Rylan Jones contributed 3 kills and 3 digs. Setter Tomoni Giddings posted a team-high 10 assists and added 6 digs, and libero Brayla Doss anchored the back row with 10 digs.
Erin Mims tallied 2 kills, 4 digs, and an ace, and Michaela Branner recorded 2 kills and 7 digs. Cristin Webb added 3 kills and 2 digs, helping provide depth at the net.
Alabama State controlled the match from start to finish behind a strong offensive outing led by Kaylen Hines, who posted 13 kills. The Hornets outhit the Braves in all three sets and held momentum with timely runs in each frame.
The night also served as an opportunity to recognize Alcorn's seniors for their contributions to the program, celebrating their dedication, leadership, and commitment to Braves volleyball.
Alcorn State now turns the page toward the offseason as the program looks to build forward into the 2026 campaign.
