MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Alcorn State fell 95-50 to the University of Minnesota on Saturday morning inside Williams Arena. The contest marked the Braves' second game of the 2025–26 season as they continued their early non-conference road stretch.
Minnesota (2-0) opened the game on a dominant run and led 48-17 at halftime. Alcorn (0-3) found better rhythm in the second half, outscoring its first-half total by 16 points, but could not overcome the early deficit.
Davian Williams led the Braves with nine points and three assists, shooting 3-for-7 from the floor. William Henderson provided an efficient effort off the bench with nine points on 4-for-4 shooting, adding three rebounds and an assist. Shane Lancaster contributed eight points and six made free throws, while Omari Hamilton tallied four points and four rebounds.
Also scoring for Alcorn were Jameel Morris with seven points, Tycen McDaniels and Mike Jones with two points apiece, and Travis Roberts, Bryson Calamese, and Jeremy Ellis with additional offensive support. The Braves shot 33.9 percent from the field and 60 percent from the free throw line while recording 24 total rebounds.
Minnesota was paced by Cade Tyson's 21 points and seven rebounds, while Jaylen Crocker-Johnson posted a double-double with 15 points and 16 boards. Robert Vaihola added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Golden Gophers, who shot 48.3 percent overall and 86.5 percent from the line.
Alcorn will continue its road trip on Tuesday, Nov. 11, when the Braves travel to face Maryland. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in College Park, Md.
