LORMAN – Alcorn State women's basketball delivered a dominant defensive performance to earn a convincing 53-40 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday afternoon at the Davey L. Whitney Health & Physical Education Complex. The Lady Braves controlled the game from start to finish, holding the Golden Lions to just 32.6% shooting while forcing 26 turnovers.
Zy'Nyia White and Nakia Cheathman led Alcorn with eight points each, with White adding two rebounds and Cheathman contributing two assists and a steal.
Destiny Brown was a force on the boards, pulling down 10 rebounds while also registering five points, two blocks, and a steal. Alcorn's depth played a key role, as the bench provided 26 points to fuel the Lady Braves' strong offensive attack.
The Lady Braves built a lead in the second quarter and never looked back, using their defense to stifle Arkansas-Pine Bluff's offense and secure their fifth SWAC victory of the season.

- The Lady Braves took control defensively, forcing seven turnovers and limiting the Golden Lions to just three made field goals.
- Henderson and Kailyn Watkins provided a spark off the bench, combining for nine points in the period.
Fourth Quarter – Alcorn 53, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 40
- The Lady Braves maintained their defensive pressure, holding Arkansas-Pine Bluff to just nine points in the final frame.
- Alcorn's balanced scoring attack helped secure the win, with four players contributing points in the quarter.
- The Lady Braves' bench continued to make an impact, scoring 26 total points in the game.
