MONROE, LA – Alcorn State baseball struggled to find its rhythm offensively in an 11-1 road loss to the University of Louisiana Monroe on Tuesday night at Lou St. Amant Field. The Braves (2-11) managed just five hits in the contest while ULM (8-8) capitalized on key scoring opportunities to take control in the middle innings.
Mason Duke provided the lone RBI for Alcorn, driving in Jesse Burton in the seventh inning to prevent the shutout. Reyfield Adams,
Nathan Gamez, Kalum Banks, and
Jeremiah Farmer each added a hit for the Braves. Starting pitcher
Jacobe Nailer (0-2) took the loss, allowing five runs on five hits over three innings, while
Andres Chirinos and
Guershon Exi provided relief appearances.
ULM broke open the game with a five-run fourth inning, highlighted by a grand slam from Colby Lunsford. The Warhawks added three more runs in the fifth and never looked back, holding Alcorn to just one run over seven innings.
