LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State University will begin the search for its next head men's basketball coach following the resignation of Landon Bussie, as announced by Athletic Director E. D'Wayne Robinson.
"Coach Bussie informed me of his decision to accept the head coaching position at Chicago State University," Robinson said. "We are incredibly grateful for his contributions to our basketball program. His leadership and dedication have elevated our program, and his impact will be felt for years to come. We appreciate all that he has done for Alcorn State, and we wish him continued success in this next chapter of his coaching career."
Bussie took over the Braves' program in 2020 and quickly turned Alcorn State into a perennial contender in the SWAC. Under his leadership, the Braves secured back-to-back SWAC regular-season championships in 2022 and 2023, marking the program's return to prominence. His ability to develop talent and instill a winning culture has left a lasting impression on Alcorn's basketball legacy.
