BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The No. 6 seed Alcorn State University men's basketball team is set to take on No. 3 seed Bethune-Cookman in the quarterfinal round of the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Basketball Tournament, presented by Buick. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Thursday, March 13, at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, Ga.
Alcorn State (11-19, 11-7 SWAC) enters the tournament looking to make a statement, while Bethune-Cookman (16-15, 13-5 SWAC) earned the third seed after a strong regular season. The Braves aim to pull off an upset and advance to the semifinals.
In other quarterfinal matchups, top-seeded Southern awaits the winner of No. 8 Grambling State vs. No. 9 Alabama A&M, while No. 2 Jackson State will face the winner of No. 7 Florida A&M vs. No. 10 Prairie View A&M. The No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchup features Texas Southern and Alabama State.
The 2025 Starry SWAC Men's Basketball Tournament presented by Buick will take place from March 11-15 at Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, Ga. All tournament games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
