MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alcorn State baseball dropped both games of a Friday doubleheader against Alabama State, falling 10-1 in game one and 12-1 in game two at Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex. The Braves (6-39, 1-25 SWAC) combined for just five hits across both contests and struggled to contain an Alabama State offense that produced 22 runs and 23 hits on the day.
Despite the results, Alcorn saw productive performances from
Jermel Ford,
Gavin Caston, and
Ty Boze, each of whom collected multiple hits or extra-base knocks. Alabama State used big innings in both games to break things open and secure the series win heading into Saturday's finale.
