Lorman, Miss. – Alcorn State volleyball opened its 2025 home slate on Wednesday evening but fell 3–0 to visiting Louisiana at the Davey L. Whitney Complex. The Ragin' Cajuns took the match by scores of 25–20, 25–9 and 25–13.

Jessika Martinez powered the Braves' attack with a team-best eight kills. Graduate right side
Kyla Davis added three kills and one service ace. Setter
Juliana Henao handed out a match-high 21 assists and collected five digs, while libero
Tomoni Giddings anchored the back row with eight digs.
Courtney Carter contributed five kills and two service aces, and
Rylan Jones chipped in four kills.
Louisiana (6–1) was led by Cailan Demps, who registered nine kills. The Ragin' Cajuns hit .423 as a team and recorded seven service aces.
The Braves return to action Saturday when they host Paul Quinn College at 2 p.m. inside the Davey L. Whitney Complex.
