BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2026-27 Women's Basketball Predicted Order of Finish during the Women's Basketball Media Day event on Tuesday, October 6
th. The Predicted Order of Finish was voted by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Following a historic year as the reigning tournament champion, Southern was tabbed as the favorite with the No. 1 spot. Following the Lady Jaguars, enters the reigning regular season champions with Alabama A&M being tabbed at No. 2. Alabama State (3
rd), Alcorn State (4
th), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (5
th) and Grambling State (6
th) round out the top six selections.
Florida A&M (7
th), Jackson State (8
th), Bethune-Cookman (9
th), Texas Southern (10
th), Mississippi Valley (11
th) and Prairie View A&M (12
th) were tabbed to finish 7-12 respectively.
Southern led the poll selections with 10 first-place votes, followed by Alabama A&M adding eight. Arkansas-Pine Bluff received three first place votes and Alabama State received one.
