Baton Rouge,La. – The Lady Braves face a busy week, traveling to Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Oct. 7, to take on Southern at 6 p.m. Alcorn State will then return home for a weekend slate, hosting Jackson State on Friday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. before welcoming Mississippi Valley State for a Sunday matinee on Oct. 11.

Rylan Jones — Jones has been one of Alcorn's top offensive weapons this season, recording 123 kills and averaging 2.81 kills per set. She has totaled 132.0 points while adding 14 blocks.
Courtney Carter — Carter leads the Braves with 2.84 kills per set and ranks second on the team with 112 kills. She has also contributed 10 aces and 16 blocks for 130.5 total points.
Jaylynn McNeill — McNeill has provided a consistent offensive presence with 67 kills and a .187 hitting percentage. She averages 2.11 kills per set and has totaled 76.0 points this season.
ALCORN VS. SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY LAST MEETING:
▪ Alcorn State fell to Southern in straight sets, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-17), on Oct. 23, 2025, in Baton Rouge. The Lady Braves finished with 27 kills, 23 assists and 38 digs while hitting .056 as a team.
Courtney Carter led Alcorn with nine kills and nine digs, while Cristin Webb and Kyla Powell added five kills apiece. Juliana Henao recorded 21 assists, four digs and an ace, and Tomoni Giddings posted a match-high 20 digs.
ALCORN VS.JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY LAST MEETING:
▪ Alcorn State dropped a 3-0 decision to Jackson State on Oct. 26, 2025, in Jackson, falling 25-18, 25-19, 25-10. The Lady Braves recorded 21 kills, 19 assists and five blocks while hitting .028 as a team.
Courtney Carter led Alcorn with nine kills and seven digs, while Juliana Henao posted 14 assists and an ace. Kayla Jones added four block assists, and Jessika Martinez and Cristin Webb each recorded two kills.
Jackson State finished with 39 kills, a .289 hitting percentage, 37 assists, 10 aces and 12 blocks. The Tigers pulled away in the third set to secure the road victory.
ALCORN VS.MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY LAST MEETING:
Alcorn State dropped a 3-1 decision to Mississippi Valley State on Oct. 27, 2025, falling 25-15, 14-25, 25-19, 25-14 in Itta Bena. The Lady Braves finished with 34 kills, 31 assists, seven aces and eight blocks.
Courtney Carter led Alcorn with 12 kills and 12 digs, while Kayla Jones added nine kills and Kasey Watkins contributed eight kills. Juliana Henao recorded 26 assists, 10 digs and four aces, while Tomoni Giddings added 13 digs and two aces.
SCOUTING THE JAGS
Sereniti Johnson — Johnson leads the team with 144 kills and 2.57 kills per set, while adding 21 service aces. Defensively, she has recorded 125 digs and 13 blocks.
Mariah Mott — Mott ranks second with 120 kills and averages 2.26 kills per set. She has also contributed 40 blocks, averaging 0.75 per set, giving her an impact on both sides of the net.
Paulina Agudelo Marin — Agudelo Marin has totaled 66 kills, averaging 1.29 kills per set, while posting a .141 hitting percentage. She has been especially effective at the net with 36 blocks, including 35 block assists, and 13 service aces.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Jayden James — James is the team's primary offensive weapon, leading the squad with 388 kills and averaging 3.96 kills per set. She has also recorded 45 service aces and 239 digs while hitting .234.
Hope Briggs — Briggs has totaled 223 kills and averages 2.90 kills per set while posting an impressive .318 hitting percentage. She has also contributed 47 blocks.
Kyra Dove — Dove is one of the team's most efficient attackers, recording 129 kills with a team-best .353 hitting percentage among regular contributors. She has added 65 blocks, including 29 solo blocks, and averages 2.35 points per set.
SCOUTING THE DELTA DEVILS
Aubrie Walker — Walker leads the team with 83 kills and averages 1.77 kills per set, while totaling 102.0 points. She also contributes defensively with 65 digs and 18 blocks.
Aniyah Moore — Moore has recorded 62 kills and averages 1.32 kills per set. She has been one of the team's strongest defensive presences at the net, leading the team with 49 blocks (1.04 per set).
Brooklyn Brunt — Brunt has totaled 61 kills and averages 1.33 kills per set. She has also contributed 19 blocks and owns a .918 reception percentage
