Lorman, Miss- A five set thriller as the Lady Braves (2-14-2-4) fell to the Jackson State University Tigers (26-24),(20-25), (15-25), (27-25), (13-15).

Set One: A set featuring 11 tie scores and 5 lead changes. The Lady Braves battled Jackson State in a back-and-forth opening set, tying the score several times and taking a late lead. The Lady Braves reached set point 24-22, but the Tigers prowled back to tie it at 24-24. Alcorn closed the set with back-to-back points. 

Set Two: Jackson State controlled the second set early, taking a 5-2 lead before Alcorn battled back to make it 8-8. The Lady Braves stayed within distance and cut the deficit to 20-16 to 23-20, but Jackson State closed out the set, 25-20, to even the match at one set apiece.

Set Three: Another early control from Jackson State took an early 5-4 before using a strong run to build a 10-5 advantage. Alcorn fought back behind kills from Alexis Burton, Shelby Zanders, and Rylan Jones, cutting the deficit to 15-11. The Lady Braves continued to fight and reached within 19-13, but Jackson State answered with another run and closed out the set 25-15.

Set Four: Alcorn rallied from an 18-12 deficit to force extra points and win the fourth set, 27-25. The Lady Braves cut the deficit to 18-15 before eventually tying the set at 23-23. After Jackson State reached set point at 24-23, Alcorn answered to tie it again. The Lady Braves then battled through extra points, with a Jackson State attack error giving Alcorn a 26-25 lead before Rylan Jones finished the set with a kill from Daylin Saiki to secure the 27-25 victory.

Set Five: Jackson State held off Alcorn, 15-13, in the decisive fifth set to win the match. The Lady Braves stayed within striking distance throughout the set, trailing 8-5 at the changeover and later cutting the deficit to 13-12. Alcorn pulled within one again at 14-13 after a kill by Rylan Jones, but Jackson State closed the match with the final point.
