LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn Men's Tennis stays at home this weekend as the Braves welcome Incarnate Word for a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 14, at Hall's Ferry Tennis Court in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The teams will begin the first match at 10 a.m., followed by the nightcap at 2 p.m., or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opening match.

For the Braves, the matches will represent the third and fourth at home on the spin.

• Incarnate Word comes into the doubleheader with a 0-2 record on the year.
• Under the direction of Head Coach Jonas Andersson, the Cardinals dropped a 4-3 decision in their last match away to Trinity (TX).
• The Cardinals' other loss came at the hands of second-ranked Texas, 6-1.
• In their last outing, it was Alejandro Hernandez winning in the No. 1 singles position in the lineup.

LAST TIME OUT FOR ALCORN (vs. Lamar)
Vicent Llobell Buigues fought hard at No. 3 singles, as Alcorn Men's Tennis suffered a 7-0 setback to visiting Lamar at Hall's Ferry Tennis Courts in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Alcorn (3-3) entered the match riding a three-match winning streak, but seeking the first against a Division I opponent on the campaign.

Lamar (3-7) jumped on top 1-0 after the doubles point, with the Cardinals grabbing victory in all three positions, respectfully. The best match of the doubles action came at the No. 2 spot, where the Cardinals' Fabian Anthin and Vicente Monge outlasted Alcorn's team of
Matthew Holl and
Vicent Llobell Buigues, 7-5.

In singles play, Buigues, a freshman from Alicante, Spain, took Lamar's Stefano Chappuis to an opening set tie-break, before the Cardinals' No. 3 performer claimed the 7-6(5) win in the end. Chappuis staked a 6-1 win in the second set for the straight-set victory.

Fabian Juarez of Alcorn battled hard at the No. 4 singles position, before he was ultimately taken down 6-4, 6-4 by Lamar's Guy Dagan. And it was a 6-3, 6-1 win for the visitors' Rintaro Shukuda over the Braves'
Sebastian Griffiths, a freshman from Neath, Wales, in the top-flight match on court one.
