Adam Braswell enters his first season as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Alcorn State University. With a strong background in both collegiate and high school basketball, Adam brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of player development and team success.

Adam’s basketball journey began as a player at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a member of the 2009–2010 team that posted a 26–10 overall record, a 14–1 mark in conference play, and won both the MEAC regular season and conference championships, earning a trip to the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

After his collegiate playing career, Adam transitioned into coaching and quickly demonstrated his leadership and strategic abilities.

During the 2022–2023 season, Adam served as a graduate assistant at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. That year, the team finished with an impressive 26–8 overall record and a dominant 16–1 home record. They also reached the NAIA Sweet 16 for the first time in school history. Adam contributed to player development, implemented defensive strategies, led pre-game and pre-practice routines, and managed strength and conditioning workouts.

Concurrently, Adam was the Assistant Coach at Dade Christian School, where he guided the team to a 23–6 record—the best in school history. Under his mentorship, three of the team’s five seniors advanced to play college basketball. The team was ranked 8th in the FHSAA 2A Division.

Prior to that, he served as Head Coach at Champagnat Catholic School, where he led a remarkable program turnaround by improving the team’s win total by ten games over the previous season. Five of his six senior players went on to play basketball at the collegiate level.

From 2020 to 2023, Adam also served as Director and Head Coach of TeamMe AAU Basketball, overseeing the 16U and 17U teams. In just three years, ten players from the program advanced to play at the college level. His leadership and focus on player growth made a lasting impact on the athletes he mentored.

Now at Alcorn State University, Adam Braswell brings passion, experience, and a deep commitment to excellence in coaching and player development. His history of success at every level makes him an asset to the Braves' program and a trusted mentor to student-athletes.
