High School:
Attended Harry Ainlay High School and the Edge School for Athletes…Earned role as team captain from freshman through senior season in basketball… She was selected as one of the top 50 high school players by Canletes and was named an All-Star in their She Got Now All-Canadian game in her senior season…Was part of Edge School’s team that was the first Western Canadian team to win a game in the Grind Session…Helped her team win the gold medal at the 2018 Alberta Summer Games Provincial Championship. Also lettered in volleyball and track & field…As a volleyball player, was part of the team to claim the Metro Athletics Junior Women’s Volleyball Championship…On the track, she earned the high jump School and Zones title, and was a two-time Provincial Runner-up, ran the 200m to a School and Zones title and runner-up finish, while also helping the 4x100m to a pair of bronze School and Zones finishes. Attended the same high school as Canadian National Team twin players Michelle and Katherine Plouffe, as well as 2008 12th overall draft pick and alternate captain defenseman for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL) Tyler Myers, and with Gonzaga women’s basketball player Yvonne Ejim at Edge School…Received honors on the Principal’s List of Academic Excellence with Distinction on a 90 percent average, earning Honors with Distinction.

Full name is Arene Claire Iyekekpolor…Born January 19 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada…The daughter of Dr. Joseph Iyekekpolor and Dorothy Iyekekpolor…Has two older siblings, Roderick and Otas…Her brother Otas played basketball for Central Arkansas and Fort Lewis, and now plays professionally in Canada…Arene was a member of Team Alberta's 2019 15U Girl's National Championships team which placed fifth…Majoring in Biology (Pre-Professional) and is interested in a career as an orthodontist.
