Destini Banks joined the Alcorn State University volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2025 season, bringing a strong background in front-row play, defensive tactics, and player development.
A native of Crowley, TX, Banks is a proud graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where she was a standout middle blocker for the Devilettes from 2018 to 2023. She led MVSU in total blocks during the 2018 season and ranked third in kills, consistently contributing on both sides of the net throughout her career. One of her most memorable performances came against Alcorn State, where she recorded 11 kills and six blocks in a single match.
Banks earned her bachelor’s degree from MVSU in May 2022 and later completed her master’s degree in Sports Administration in December 2024, gaining additional expertise in athletic communication, program development, and leadership.
In her role with the Lady Braves, she focuses on developing front-row players, coordinating defensive strategy, assisting with recruiting, and helping execute practice plans. Her coaching philosophy centers on teaching fundamentals, fostering team chemistry, and empowering student-athletes to excel both on and off the court.
Banks is also active in community engagement, volunteering at youth volleyball clinics and mentoring young athletes. She is committed to helping build a culture of excellence, integrity, and growth within the Alcorn volleyball program.
