Georgia Parsons collected a career-high 13 kills and five of the Lady Braves recorded 10+ digs as the Lady Braves complete the season sweep over Mississippi Valley State 3-1.
The Lady Braves took sets one and two 25-20 and 25-20. After the 10-minute break the Lady Braves came out with ambitions to take set three but the Devilettes had other plans.
Late in set three the Lady Braves led 24-21 with the set point on the line but the Devilettes battled back to take set three 26-24 forcing a fourth set.
Despite dropping set three, the Lady Braves gathered themselves in set four winning 25-14.
Sophomore
Sydney Mellom led the Lady Braves in assists (33) and digs (14). Mellom also posted four kills and a career-high five serving aces. Freshman
Lurlethia Jones and junior Erica Cadell each had eight kills while freshman
Heather Jackson led the Braves with five total blocks (3 solo, 2 assists) and seven kills.
The Lady Braves face Jackson State on Thursday in the SWAC East home finale at 6 p.m. at the Whtiney Complex.Â
