Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lady Braves Fall Late to Grambling State 64-57

After a low-scoring first half, the Lady Braves managed to hang around with Grambling until the last few minutes of the game.  Grambling nailed two key three-pointers to take a comfortable lead as the Lady Braves pick up their second SWAC loss of the season to the Lady Tigers 64-57.

Grambling led 24-22 at the half but the Lady Braves made a strong push to take a 31-27 advantage within six minutes into the second half.

Angelica Wilson-Reid gave the Lady Braves their largest lead of the game 33-27 fast break layup a minute and a half later.

Grambling marched back to tie the game at 40-40 on a made three-pointer by Bre'nae Andrews with 7:46 to play.

The game remained close knit until Andrews and Yosha Watson both connected from behind the arc to give the Lady Tigers a 54-48 lead and it was all the Lady Tigers for the rest of the way.

Olivia Brown led the way for the Lady Braves with a game-high 17 points.  Norianna Haynes chipped in 10 points.

The Lady Braves have a few days to rest before hosting Mississippi Valley State this Saturday at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
