Five players scored in the double-figures as the Braves pull of a huge 87-67 win over Mississippi Valley State at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.
The Braves led at the half 41-34 and continued their outstanding performance in the second half.
In the opening minutes of the second half, the Braves opened a comfortable 56-42 lead behind junior forward
Tyrel Hunt. Â Hunt scored nine of the Braves 14 points in the early goings of the second half.
The Braves were on a mission as they continued to put the Delta Devils away for the night.
In the next few possessions, the Braves increased their lead to 73-50 with just under 5:30 to play.
The Braves never looked back from there shooting 54.7 percent from the field in the game.
Luckett scored a game-high 20 points while
Marquis Vance and
Tyrel Hunt each chipped in 15. Â
Keynan Pittman went 5-for-5 for a total of 10 points and Devontae Hampton scored 11 points.
The Braves are back in action Monday night as they take on Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 7:30 p.m.
