The Braves gave up seven runs in the sixth inning which pretty much sealed the deal for Southeast Missouri State, 13-6 in the Braves home opener tonight at McGowan Stadium.
Moses Charles put the Braves ahead early 1-0Â in the bottom of the first scoring on a passed ball.
The Redhawks scored three runs in the top of the second inning to go ahead 3-1.
Cedric Walker hit a RBI single to score
Walter Vives to cut the Redhawks lead to 3-2.
The game remained close until the top of the sixth inning. After a two-run homerun by the Southeast Missouri State's Garrett Gandolfo, the Braves walked a few batters and some wild pitches allowed the Redhawks to put together a seven-run inning in the sixth.
The last two runs came in the bottom of the ninth inning for the Braves.
Tomorrow, the Braves return to action beginning a three-game weekend slate with New Orleans in the MLB Urban Youth Invtational. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
