Four of the Braves players scored in double figures but Texas Southern scored 42 points in the paint and shot 63.5 percent from the field as the Braves pick up their sixth straight loss tonight 94-73.
The Braves took an early 8-4 lead on two three-pointers by
Marquis Vance with only three and half minutes into the game.
LeAntwan Luckett kept the Braves ahead in the first half with a three-pointer to give the Braves an 17-13 lead.
Texas Southern quickly turned the flow of the game around by going on a 12-0 run to take a 25-17 lead with 9:08 to play in the first half.
The Tigers took a 40-30 lead at the half.
Six minutes into the second half, the Braves battled back to cut the Tigers lead to 50-44 on a field goal by
Tyrel Hunt with 14:26 to play.
Just over a minute later,
Michael Davis connected from behind the arc to put the Braves down two, 53-51.
But the Tigers held their composure and extended their lead with five minutes to play. Â The Tigers outscored the Braves 41-22 in the last 10 minutes of the game.
Vance led all scorers with 26 points shooting 50 percent from the field including 3-of-6 from three-point range and 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. Â
Tamarcio Wilson scored 14 points while Luckett added 12. Â Davis chipped in 10 points on the night.
The Braves face Prairie View for their regular season finale on Saturday at 5 p.m. following the conclusion of the women's game.
