Tennis: Women Continue to Heat Up, Men Fall to Delta State

With only a few days left until the 2015 SWAC Tennis Championships, the Braves and Lady Braves played a tune up match against in-state foe Delta State yesterday afternoon.
The women extended their winning streak to three straight with a dominant 6-1 victory while the men fell short 4-3.

Aakanksha Punj highlighted the day by shutting out her opponent in the singles match 6-0, 6-0.

Aida Kelic and Ivana Boberic were impressive in the doubles matches picking up an 8-2 win.

For the men, Ernesto Santillan and Kilian Salgado earned the only wins in the singles matches.  Santillan defeated his opponent 4-6, 6-1, and 10-7 while Salgado won 6-1 and 6-0.

The Braves took two out of three from the Statesmen in the doubles matches.

Both teams face New Orelans on Thursday before playing in the semi-finals of the SWAC Championships on Saturday.
