The Alcorn State baseball team will look to keep their winning streak going as they travel to Louisiana to face Grambling State tomorrow night.
The Braves and Grambling State played back in February in the MLB Urban Youth Academy Invitational with the Braves picking up the win 15-10. Earl Burl III batted the cycle that game going 5-for-5 with two singles, one double, a triple and a homerun. He also collected five RBIs and scored four times.
Over the weekend the Braves swept Mississippi Valley in a three-game series to earn the final spot in the SWAC East for the 2015 SWAC Baseball Tournament next week. The Braves outscored Mississippi Valley 43-19 in all three games including two 10-run rule games in games one and three.
Scotty Peavey leads the Braves with a batting average of .353 on 184 plate appearances.  His streak of five consecutive games with a homerun ended on Saturday in game two against Mississippi Valley. Collin Carroll is tied for first in the SWAC in homeruns with a total of 11 while batting .349 on the season.
The Tigers will enter Tuesday's game with a 9-33 record after falling to Southern in all three games in their SWAC West finale.
First pitch between the Braves and the Tigers are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Â
