JACKSON, MS - The Alcorn State University Braves (7-3, 9-12) defeated the Jackson State University Tigers (7-3, 12-11) 72-64 Saturday at the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center. With the win, the Braves avenged their heartbreaking loss to the Tigers earlier this season.

TAMARCIO WILSON scored a career high, 31 points, and went 11-of-15 from the field.
REGINALD JOHNSON scored 10 points.

The Braves improved from the charity strip, shooting 85 percent from the free throw line.

Alcorn State took a 32-28 lead into intermission.

Jackson State used a fury of threes and home court advantage in the second half to regain the lead with less than 3 minutes to play.

Wilson nailed a go-ahead 3-pointer in the very next play to put the Braves up for good.

The Braves head to Grambling, Louisiana to face the Tigers of Grambling State University Monday Feb. 8th.
