The hosts built a 6-0 advantage with two runs in the first and four more in the second before the Braves got going in the top of the third. Rios Jimenez singled to first with two outs and Barna followed with a hit up the middle. Hamilton then drove a 2-1 offering to right for a bases-clearing double.
Â
Alcorn pulled to within 6-5 with three runs in the fifth. Walden bunted for a single to start off the inning and proceeded to steal second. An Acklin sacrifice bunt moved Walden to third and the senior from Atlanta, Ga. came home on a Rios Jimenez double down the right-field line. Back-to-back singles then ran the bases full. The Purple and Gold picked up another tally on a fielder's choice out at second and a McGowan single up the middle.
Â
With the Braves now in striking distance, the Redhawks took back the momentum with six runs in the bottom half of the frame. The home team's lone hit in the inning hurt the most as Seattle homered with the bases juiced. Alcorn was unable to recover and the two teams traded a run in the eighth for the final score. Â
Â
The Braves and Redhawks will close out the series with a noon contest Sunday.
