LORMAN, Miss. – On a hot, humid Sunday afternoon, the Alcorn State University soccer program came up on the short end of a 12-0 score to North Dakota at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium.
 
The Lady Braves (0-5) recorded five shots in the match with three on goal. Senior Yaira Guardado and freshman Johanna Seelhorst each tallied a pair of shots, and sophomore Mireya Gonzalez took one.
 
Guardado, junior Anjelica Dugan, freshman Paula Cabeza and freshman Shalisha King all logged 90 minutes. Junior Giselle Rojas also played the full 90 in net and made nine saves.
 
Cassie Giddings posted a hat trick for UND (6-1-1) and Katie Moller scored twice.
 
It was the first-ever meeting between Alcorn and UND.
 
The Lady Braves will turn their attention to SWAC opponents as they begin conference play Friday at 5 p.m. against Grambling State on the road. Alcorn's next home game is Sunday, Oct. 7 when it hosts Howard at 1 p.m.
