PINE BLUFF, Ark. – An injury-plagued Alcorn State University soccer program fell to Grambling State 7-0 Friday and Arkansas-Pine Bluff 9-0 Sunday to begin conference play.

Of the 19 Lady Braves (0-7, 0-2 SWAC) on the roster, the team was down to 13 bodies Friday and 14 Saturday.

Alcorn took two shots against GSU (4-6, 1-0 SWAC) at the GSU Soccer Complex. Junior

Mireya Gonzalez each made their way onto the scoresheet. The game was called after 81 minutes due to lightning.

Johanna Seelhorst recorded three shots against UAPB (1-3-1, 1-0-1 SWAC) at Pumphrey Stadium with two on target. Freshman defender
Shalisha King was also able to get a shot off.

The Lady Braves used both goalkeepers as junior
Giselle Rojas made a pair of saves against GSU and sophomore
Kameran Proby blocked 14 saves versus UAPB.

Alcorn will look to bounce back Friday when it heads to Alabama A&M for a 4 p.m. start.
