The Lady Lions came out roaring to open the match, rolling along to an early 11-4 lead. The Lady Braves showed some resiliency as it came back to pull within three (13-10) but UAPB was too much for Alcorn as it outscored the purple and gold 12-5 the rest of the set to win the opener (15-25).

Alcorn found itself in a type of déjà vu scenario in the second set, trailing 11-5 through 16 points. The Lady Braves once again showed a fighting spirit by clawing back to make it a three-point deficit (15-12). The girls from Pine Bluff made the plays it needed to down the stretch, putting the Lady Braves in a two-set hole (17-25).

Arkansas-Pine Bluff went to work immediately in the third set, going on an 8-1 run to begin the third. Alcorn proved its grit and never-say-die attitude as it rattled off six straight to close the gap to 13-11. That's as close as Coach Robinson's team would get as UAPB settled on a five-point third set victory and a sweep (20-25).

The Lady Braves travel to Marshall, Texas on Tuesday night to conclude its home-and-home series with Wiley College at 6 p.m.
