Alcorn Game Notes | Watch ESPN3

RALEIGH, N.C. –
The Alcorn State University will complete a tough two-game stretch Tuesday when it heads to NC State for a 6 p.m. (CT) tip at William Neal Reynolds Coliseum.

The game will be nationally televised on ESPN3.

The Braves (1-3) will look to shake-off a 102-56 defeat at No. 13 Memphis on Saturday. Making his first start, junior Isaiah Attles scored a team-high 13 points, and junior Troymain Crosby netted 10 points.

Senior Maurice Howard, an All-Conference First-Team selection, did not play against the Tigers due to an injury sustained in practice. His current status is day-to-day. Howard surpassed the 1,000-career point mark in his last outing against Paul Quinn on Nov. 12, becoming the 40th student-athlete in school history to do so.

The Braves have been strong on the glass this season. They've outrebounded three of their four opponents and rank second in the SWAC in rebounding margin. Individually, junior Kobe Wilson leads the conference in defensive rebounds (5.5 drpg) and is second in total rebounds (8.5 rpg).

Alcorn also leads the conference in three-pointers made per game and three-point percentage defense (.254). Senior Corey Tillery makes 2.3 threes per outing.

Crosby is the team's leading scorer with 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. The Preseason All-Conference Second-Team honoree is shooting .882 (15-17) from the free throw line.

NC State (3-1, 0-1 ACC) have won three straight after falling in its opener to Georgia Tech 82-81 in overtime. The team has since beaten Detroit Mercy 84-65, FIU 87-77 and St. Francis Brooklyn 95-64.

The Wolfpack score 86.5 points per game. At the top of the stat sheet is CJ Bryce with 20.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. DJ Funderburk averages 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest.

In four games, NC State carries a +6.8 turnover margin per game. Last season, the Wolfpack won two games in the NIT and capped the season with a 24-12 (9-9 ACC) record.

Alcorn will return home Thursday when it hosts Our Lady of the Lake at 5:30 p.m. at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

NOTES
Tuesday marks the first-ever meeting between Alcorn and NC State. The last time the Braves played an ACC opponent was Dec. 18, 2016 when they fell at Georgia Tech 74-50.

- Alcorn is going for its first non-conference win over a Division I opponent since 2012-13 when it topped Samford 69-65 in overtime. However, all wins from 2012-13 were vacated by the NCAA. Prior to that season, the last DI non-conference win was against Jacksonville State 70-68 in 2003-04.

- The Braves are looking to defeat a team from a Power Five conference for the first time since 1990-91 when they beat Indiana 79-77.

- In Alcorn's home-opener, the team posted a lopsided 111-59 win over Paul Quinn. The 111 points were the most scored by Alcorn in 21 seasons. The Braves improved to 144-6 all-time when they score at least 100 points in a game. The Braves have won seven of their last eight home openers.

- Wilson registered his first career double-double with career-highs of 14 points and 12 rebounds against Paul Quinn.

- Senior Devon Brewer has 67 career blocks. He's attempting to become just the ninth student-athlete in school history to reach the 80-block plateau.
