PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Alcorn State University women's soccer program were able to put one in the back of the net courtesy of senior Mireya Gonzalez but the Purple and Gold lost 4-1 at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The Lady Braves (0-6, 0-6 SWAC) logged three shots (two on target) and a corner kick while goalie Vivian Lugo tallied four saves.

Gonzalez put her only shot of the afternoon past keeper Kaitlyn Hapke, drawing first blood in the game with a goal in the 14th minute.

Rosalina Santoro also put her only shot of the day on goal but Hapke was able to snag it.

Defender Lauren Hill was able to get off a shot as well, her second match in-a-row that she's registered one.

UAPB (3-4, 1-4 SWAC) recorded eight shots-on-goal in 12 attempts for a 0.667 percentage.

Four separate Lady Lions registered an assist while defensemen Iyannah Hicks had the game of her life with two goals plus an assist.

Alcorn drops to 5-18 in program history opposite Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The Purple and Gold ladies have Alabama A&M next up on the docket with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. in Huntsville, Alabama on Friday.
