MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alcorn State University women's soccer program received a shot-on-goal by Rosalina Santoro and nine saves from Vivian Lugo in a 4-0 defeat to the Lady Hornets.
The Lady Braves (0-8, 0-8 SWAC) got one on-target shot in the contest courtesy of Santoro's kick in the 85th minute but that was the only action that Alabama State goalie Kierra Dahlgren had.
Lugo stopped nine shots in her full 90 minutes, averaging a save every ten minutes in regulation.
Alabama State (3-2-1, 3-0-01 SWAC) peppered Lugo with 24 shots and 14 on goal for a percentage of 58.3% plus added nine corner kicks to the ledger.
McKenna Wiscombe put two in the back of the net for the Lady Hornets within the first 30 minutes, Kassandra Schoen got one in the 33rd while Teaggan Ilela scored the only second half goal at 65'.
Four separate ASU student-athletes had an assist in Grace Norbury, Kaitlyn Sampson, Paige Patton and Ilela.
Alcorn dropped to 5-12 in the series history with Alabama State.
The Lady Braves have concluded its SWAC slate, hosting ULM and MUW next Friday and Sunday with the game against the Owls being Senior Day for Mireya Gonzalez and manager Trinity Jones.
