Braves Drop Doubleheader At Louisiana-Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Alcorn State University men's tennis program battled until the end but fell to the Ragin Cajuns in straight sets.

The Braves (3-9, 2-2 SWAC) were able to take 17 individual games in match one and 16 during the second match but were unable to capture any points.

Match 1 | L, 0-7

The #1 doubles team of Luka Andonov/David Pata and #3 duo of Lucas Dini/Stojan Stojanovski each dropped competitive 6-2 matches.

Pata did the best in singles play, falling 6-2 and 6-4 to Ivailo Keremedchiev while Stojanovski was also a worthy competitor in a 6-1, 6-3 defeat to Kacper Dworak.

Match 2 | L, 0-4

Match number two saw its best results during doubles action go to #2 Kareem Bowe/Santiago Rocca who battled valiantly despite the 6-2 setback.

In singles competition, Stojanovski was going tit-for-tat with Sanchez Gonzalez, dropping the first game (7-5) before the match got called before the second one got underway.

Men's tennis has one more match before the SWAC Championships, a meeting with Alabama State on March 26 at the Sports Force Parks in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
