HOUSTON, Texas – The Alcorn State University women's basketball program had an off shooting night in a tough defeat at TSU, 60-50.
The Lady Braves (6-12, 6-8 SWAC) were held without a single three-pointer on 20 attempts, shot only 31-percent from the court and 40-percent from the free throw line as the Purple and Gold struggled in all facets of the offense.
Kirdis Clark accounted for almost one-third of the team's point total, posting a team-best 15 points and three steals on 7-of-20 (.350).
Diamond Hall was solid on both ends of the floor with nine points and eight boards, fronting the Lady Braves in the latter category.
Texas Southern (5-8, 4-7 SWAC) saw three different Lady Tigers reach the double-digit point threshold; Ataiya Bridges (19), Namiko Adams (15) and Te'Aire Hambrick (13).
Adams fell one rebound shy of a double-double on the evening, snatching nine rebounds to go along with her 15 points while being deadly accurate (7-for-9, .778).
Skye Green was the lone student-athlete on either side to have double-digit rebounds or multiple blocks, registering ten boards and two rejections.
Nate Kilbert's ladies will make the short trek north to Prairie View for the regular season finale at 12:30 p.m. inside the William Nicks Building to face the Lady Panthers.
